About the project:
As part of the Sunbury Line Upgrade, an electrical substation in Albion was built to provide essential power for bigger, more modern trains to run along the line — improving the capacity, reliability, and frequency of services for passengers.
How Access Covers Australia Added Value:
Due to time restraints and labour access on site, our client required large custom precast pits and covers to be manufactured. Metro Trains Melbourne's design specified 250mm thick walls with cast-in rebates for MACS to sit within the structure.
Key product features included:
- Bell mouths cast into pit wall
- Pulling eyes and earthing ferrules cast into pit wall
- Twin-layer steel reinforcement cage
- Fully assembled MACS unit delivered and placed at the same time as pit delivery
